Tactical Urbanism Materials and Design Guide
Bengawalk on Instagram: "Thank you so much for turning up! Can’t believe we actually pulled so much off! Over the weekend the citizens of Cooke Town unlocked an important new skill of how to paint zebra crossings and straight lines on the road – fast – using chalk, masking tape, and wall paint We also made some designated parking and reclaimed a giant concrete pillar :) It was a beautiful day - thank you once again to everyone who turned up! Super curious to see how people will use it over the next few days. We estimate that the paint will fade out in 2 weeks’ time. If you’re in the area drop by, hang around for a bit and see if people are actually crossing here. The crossing location is junction of Davis Road & Wheeler Road Extension. You may also just search for Koriken Wheeler Road, they have nice chicken apparently 🍗 Anyway, it’s the first time we ever did something like this and now clearly we gotta do many many more. Stay tuned :) Low key temporary stuff. It’s like a science experiment. Test ideas and see what difference they actually make. And ideally after that convince the depts to actually do it also. —— This has been part of an arts and research project Mori Datidhaa Veera (The Warrior Who Crossed the Drain) in collaboration with @shiva__pathak @theliellama @bengawalk | #Studio345 @sandboxcollective This Foundation Project is implemented by India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) under the Project 560 programme, made possible with support from BNP Paribas."
